DMA has the ability to
help financial institutions in the design, development,
auditing, authentication and marketing of Islamic
products. Today, any institution that is planning to
enter into the field of Islamic Finance will be faced
with stiff competition and many other procedural
challenges. Also, these institutions must be alert to
the fact that they will be catering to :
- An audience that has
acquired increased awareness regarding Islamic
products.
- They will be
marketing to or competing directly against Islamic
institutions that have gained credibility and
acceptability. The Islamic Institutions also provide
a large range of products that conform to Islamic
beliefs, traditions and that meet the Islamic
Investor’s objectives.
DMA Consulting could work
with financial institutions to help start or to
develop the Islamic Finance aspect of their business :
- DMA can design a
Islamic Business Development plan.
- DMA can
develop/modify an existing product.
- DMA can help to
improve an existing product to make sure that it
qualifies as an “Islamic product”. This will be done
by first auditing the product to make sure it
conforms to Islamic principles. It will then be
raised to an Islamic body for authentication. The
Shariah Board will then be called upon to clear it.
Once ratified by the Shariah Board it will gain
“credibility and respect” in the eyes of Islamic
institutions and individual investors and will thus
be termed “An Islamic Product”.
